The Only WordPress Platform You’ll Ever Need.

Project Overview

The Bluehost team sought to enhance the brand’s positioning and refine its go-to-market strategy for 2025. The initiative aimed to elevate Bluehost’s presence in a competitive web hosting space while reconnecting with its core audiences: entrepreneurs, agencies, technologists, and small- to medium-sized business owners.

CHALLENGE

Despite being a recognized name in the hosting industry, Bluehost’s previous marketing efforts lacked emotional resonance and a distinct visual personality. Our brand audit found that while the messaging emphasized dependability, it lacked differentiation and engagement across channels.

APPROACH

The creative process was anchored in three core phases:

  1. Brand Audit & Audience Analysis
We began by conducting a competitive analysis and a deep dive into Bluehost’s existing marketing assets. This included identifying four key personas: the Small Business Owner, the Entrepreneur, the Agency Leader, and the Technologist. Each had unique pain points and motivations that shaped our messaging and design approach.

  2. Visual Identity Overhaul
Inspired by the aesthetics of code and the modular structure of websites, I introduced a graphic language centered on horizontal color bars, code-inspired typography, and UI-based visual motifs. This design system established a distinctive, flexible foundation for future campaigns.

  3. Campaign Development
Working closely with copywriters and strategists, we created a comprehensive suite of creative assets. These included:

    • Static and animated social content for Meta and LinkedIn

    • Display banners in various sizes

    • Email templates

    • A 30-second OLV (script and direction)

    • A complete Brand Campaign 2025 Guide, which codified everything from tone of voice to color palettes, photography style, and copy examples.

MY ROLE

As the Lead Art Director, I was responsible for shaping the creative vision of the campaign—from initial concept through final execution. I led the development of visual identity elements, oversaw design strategy across digital channels, and ensured the campaign’s tone and aesthetic aligned with both the user needs and Bluehost’s evolving brand narrative.

OUTCOME

The project culminated in the creation of the Bluehost Brand Campaign 2025 Guide, a scalable and visually rich system that guided the rollout of Bluehost’s marketing across web, email, social, and beyond. The campaign delivered measurable results:

  • Increased traffic engagement

  • Improved user perception of the brand

  • An upgraded, cohesive brand UX system, now adaptable across teams and channels.
